Mom comes to Monrovia

My mom loves me + my mom loves coffee = My new coffee maker!!!!!

She's a beaut, isn't she? She's got a shine like a piece of polished granite under the Sierra sun!

My mother's words as we left the store today: "God restores that which was taken by the locusts." I'll leave you to ponder the meaning of these words.

  • Melody Joy... a new coffee maker is a grand and glorious thing. And yes, yours is a beaut.

Funny thing, we thought of you today in regards to coffee even before I read this. Our fancy schmancy coffee maker crashed (again--it is a curse, I am now convinced) and we pulled out your old faithful one.

I could almost see it sneering at me as we brought it up from the basement.

"Oh SURE," it seemed to say. "NOW you want me. Delonghi keeps dying out, but who do you put in the basement? Me. And who do you call on in times of trouble? Me again."

I'm a bit deranged before coffee.

Love to your mom from me.

  • A horde of locusts stole your coffee maker? I thought it was a thief who broke into your car. . .
